October Stay Ride Adventure: Kovai Moto Tribe’s Journey to Kookal, Poombarai, and Mannavanur
Our October stay ride to the picturesque Kookal, Poombarai, and Mannavanur via Kodaikanal was an unforgettable experience, made even better by the camaraderie of our 14-member crew. This 2-day ride was packed with scenic stops, adventure, and loads of fun, making it one of the most memorable journeys we’ve had.
Day 1: Early Start and Scenic Stops
We kicked off Day 1 bright and early at 5:30 am from Karpagam College in Coimbatore. Our first stop was a quick tea break at Pollachi, where we enjoyed a warm cup and gathered our excitement for the day ahead. The cool morning air set the tone as we continued towards Palani for breakfast.
As we rode on, we stumbled upon the Varadhamanadhi Dam, a hidden gem on our way to Kodaikanal. The dam offered a stunning backdrop, and we couldn’t resist stopping for some photos with our bikes against the beautiful scenery.
After capturing some memorable shots, we resumed our ride, reaching Kodaikanal for a much-needed lunch break. The journey through Silver Falls was captivating, and after lunch, we geared up for rain.
The Rainy Ride to Kookal
The real adventure began as we set out for Kookal. The heavens opened up, and we were met with heavy rains and a sharp drop in temperature. The rain-soaked roads and misty atmosphere made the ride challenging yet thrilling. By 4 pm, we reached our hotel, soaked but exhilarated from the experience. We celebrated the end of Day 1 with fun and laughter, marking the birthday of one of our friends with music, dance, and a great evening together.
Day 2: Exploring Kookal, Poombarai, and Mannavanur
On Day 2, we started early to explore the enchanting areas around Kookal Lake and its quaint village. The serene lake and lush surroundings provided the perfect escape, and we enjoyed immersing ourselves in the calmness of the place. After our morning exploration, we rode to Poombarai for breakfast at a small local eatery, savoring delicious, homemade food that filled us up for the day ahead.
The view from Poombarai village’s window was breathtaking, with rolling green hills stretching across the horizon. After spending some time at the Poombarai viewpoint, we headed toward Mannavanur Lake. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, Mannavanur Lake was truly a slice of paradise.
We made the most of our time there with dancing, laughter, and tons of photos, capturing the beauty of the landscape and the joy of our crew.
Wrapping Up an Unforgettable Ride
After our adventure-filled day, we headed back to the hotel, stopping along the way at a lush green landscape for more photos with our bikes. We wrapped up the day with games and laughter, winding down from the excitement and soaking in the memories of an incredible ride.
Day 3: The Journey Back
On Day 3, we bid farewell to the hills and made our way back to Coimbatore via Kodaikanal. Despite the Sunday traffic, the ride was smooth, and we reached Coimbatore with a sense of satisfaction and plenty of memories to cherish. This ride, marked by beautiful scenery, challenging weather, and the unbeatable spirit of Kovai Moto Tribe, holds a special place in our hearts.
